Most of the endocrine functions can be evaluated through the measurement of several circulating hormones. Different panels of mouse hormones, cytokines, or proteins are determined using a Multiplex technology.
Panels currently available:
MultiPlex analyses are performed on a BioPlex analyser (Life Science/Bio-Rad, Marnes-la-coquette, France).
Blood samples must be collected under standardized conditions (diet, fasting duration...).
Within the same cohort, approximately 9 mice per group are recommended for reliable data analysis.
The measurement of numerous hormones that regulates metabolic function and growth are available (Insulin-like Growth Factor I (IGF-I), Thyroxin (T4), Triiodothyronin (T3), Growth hormone (GH),...). Some steroid hormones can also be evaluated by immunoanalysis in mouse plasma (testosterone, progesterone, corticosterone,...)
Each hormone is measured using specific mouse ELISA or RIA kit.
Blood samples must be collected under standardized conditions (diet, fasting duration...).
Within the same cohort, approximately 9 mice per group are required for reliable data analysis.
