A "tissue-specific" Knock-Out corresponds of a conditional model bred with a recombinase transgenic model (usually the Cre or CreERT2 recombinase activity is driven from a tissue specific promoter). The conditional allele is deleted and inactivated in a specific biological system, organ or cell population in the resulting animals.
ICS expertise:
- Our large experience in the development, use and characterization of tissue specific Cre and CreERT2 models. We recommend gene expression analyzes of the mice obtained after breeding conditional Knock-Out with Cre lines, this will reduce the risk of misinterpretation of the data.
- Our know-how in the use and characterization of tissue specific Knock-Out animals.
Risks:
- We recommend gene expression analyzes of the mice obtained after breeding conditional Knock-Out with Cre lines, this will reduce the risk of misinterpretation of the data.
